Raid Pacing Discussion on Elitist Jerks

Just recently I wrote how, if Illidan is untouchable for most raiders, he may well be demoralizing. Now there is interesting discussion on the Elitist Jerk’s forum on raid pacing that discusses how the very frontier of raid guilds rip through Mount Hyjal and Black Temple very fast.

Some of the argument is around the fact that this may be a good thing. Average guilds may indeed have a prayer of seeing Illidan down, and avoid the motivational trap I discussed earlier.

But it certainly begs the question: Which target group should raid content be paced around and how to handle the difference in pace that you will see across different playing styles and time commitments. This thread is developing and could well prove to give a whole bunch of interesting perspectives on this.
